Freiburg Concert Series

A core component of Ensemble Aventures activities is the regular concert series, which takes place in the beautiful arched cellar rooms of the Elisabeth Schneider Foundation. In six concerts between September and July, as well as several special concerts, Ensemble Aventure engages with current political and social themes which help to determine its programming. It regularly presents new works and revives existing ones, whilst focusing on unjustly marginalised personal and compositional perspectives. Concert talks with guests from such diverse fields as philosophy, art, literature and music are an integral part of the programme, often revealing unusual and often surprising perspectives and creating windows for a different way of listening.

Through sustainable cultural work and music education, Ensemble Aventure has built up a broad regular audience. The concert series, which showcases the entire spectrum of the ensemble’s activities would not be possible without the continuous support of the Kulturamt Freiburg, the state of Baden-Württemberg/Regierungspräsidium Freiburg and the generous and long-standing support of Dirk C. Schneider and the Elisabeth Schneider Foundation, in which the ensemble has a rehearsal and concert venue provided by this unique patronage.
